The HMZ1 Calc™ app determines how much positive parallax will be in your final stereoscopic 3D image when it is displayed on a 3DTV or in a digital cinema 3D theatre, and is specifically designed for use with JVC's HMZ1 3D camcorder.

Easy to Use
By simply entering the zoom and convergence values and the distance to the furthest visible BG object, HMZ1 Calc will present the maximum positive parallax in actual width and percentage for your chosen target screen size of 26 inch 3DTV, 65 inch 3DTV or theatrical sized screen (30 feet wide.)
Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Requires iOS 4.3 or later.

JVC HMZ1 Full HD 3D Camcorder
The GY-HMZ1U (GS-TD1) is a 3D camcorder offering full HD recording to dual SDHC/SDXC flash memory. Its unique integrated 3D twin lens delivers professional results in a surprisingly easy-to-use package. Equipped with JVC's proprietary Falconbrid™ LSI processing, full HD recordings can be made in either 60i, providing smooth motion for sports and fast action, or 24p for a film-like effect.
Metric and Imperial units are supported
Use infinity (∞) as the furthest object distance when shooting outside and the horizon or clouds are visible in the distance.
HMZ1 Camera to App
Set the app by entering the values from the screen on the camera.

Warnings
It is extremely important to keep maximum positive parallax under 65mm (approximately 2.5 inches) in order to avoid divergence of the viewer's eyes. Since the average human interocular distance (distance between the pupils) is 65mm, positive parallax exceeding this value can result in discomfort while viewing. HMZ1 Calc will warn the user when 65mm and the native screen parallax percentage is exceeded.
