The Quick Stitch filter plugin is used for stitching camera-originated footage from popular consumer 360 cameras like the Samsung Gear360 and Ricoh Theta S.

Currently, the only two formats supported are front/back 2:1 aspect ratio (Gear360), and back/front (rotated 90°) in 16×9 (Theta.)

To user the Quick Stitch filter plugin, first make sure that the sequence aspect ratio matches the source clips – either 2:1 or 16×9.

Then edit the camera-originated clips (unstitched) into the sequence. When Quick Stitch is first applied it will default to parameter settings that appropriate for most Gear360 cameras we’ve tested.

Presets are provided for both the Gear360 and ThetaS, but can easily be customized by the user depending on scene conditions and slight tolerances in manufacturing.

Filter Parameters:
Lens Field of View: Sets the appropriate field of view (in degrees) of the fisheye lenses used on the camera. The default value 190°.

X Fine Tuning, Y Fine Tuning: These parameters allow for fine alignment between the two lenses due to tolerances in camera manufacturing. The default is 0.

Front Rotation, Back Rotation: These parameters allow for fine rotation alignment control between the two lenses due to tolerances in camera manufacturing. The default is 0.

Blend: The blend parameter creates a soft-edge blend at the stitch line. The default value is 1.

Vignette Compensation: In most cases these controls will not be necessary, but some fisheye lenses produce uneven distribution of exposure from center to the edge. The controls provided in this parameter group can be adjusted to compensate for this vignetting. Parameters are provided for vignette exposure, radius, intensity and falloff.
